SmashCoin
A Universal, Decentralized, Self-Governed
Cryptocurrency and Customer Rewards Program
Abstract
This evolutionary White Paper is dedicated to the millions of people and businesses around the globe, who have a desire to enter the world of cryptocurrency and hesitate because of a lack of understanding of the technology, and/or the blockchain as a whole, who also lack access to a simple, turnkey, self-governed solution to break into this new crypto world. This White Paper concomitantly aims to bolster the equally large number of people who are overjoyed and relieved, now having access to one of the most fulfilling and sought-after activities to alleviate stress, pain, and frustration by breaking things, which is on its way, thanks to SmashCoin, to becoming instituted by the mental health industry as a true modality for the alternative treatment of certain mental health conditions.
Cryptocurrency and smash rooms both newer concepts, still have a bit to go before reaching global acceptance, which fuels our mission to spread awareness of the significant value these both contribute to our dynamic world. Similar to experiences in the developmental stages of our smash room, cryptocurrency and all its many nuances was somewhat overwhelming, and slightly intimidating initially, even for a technologically inclined individual such as our principal. It seemed with every layer uncovered, there was an equally cumbersome layer that followed. Through determination and months of intense research, SmashBox20 Principal, Christina Toliver achieved minting and merging SmashCoin onto the Solana blockchain and listing the asset on the Dexlab Exchange, currently awaiting liquidity to be established.
Revolutions in their own right, cryptocurrency and smash rooms open doors to so many new and exciting opportunities for the future of our vastly evolving world and SmashCoin is a conduit that will contribute to the growth and acceptance of them both around the globe.

Background
SmashCoin is derived from SmashBox20, a trailblazer in the smash room industry located in Pinellas County, Florida. Although somewhat still a new concept, now more than ever, major television networks are airing episodes on the most popular shows, highlighting individuals going into a smash room and breaking stuff to get some relief from life's everyday stressors, of which there are no shortages these days. The concept of smash rooms started in Japan around 2008, and it is believed that Texas was the first state to bring this very desirable and much needed activity to the United States. Up until the last decade or so, we existed in a world where mental health and mental illness was riddled with stigmas and misconceptions, and that to experience mental illness or struggle with mental health, you were perceived as shameful or shunned from participating in a normal society. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness (51.5 million in 2019) among all reported cases. We, as a society, have made a tremendous amount of progress as it relates to mental health awareness, even dedicating the entire month of May to this very cause. However, in some arenas, there still seems to be some hesitation and even rejection to alternative modalities for the relief of certain mental health conditions, such as breaking things; a notion that most every single person around the world has had at least once in their lifetime after a bout with stress, frustration, anger, grief, pain, and so many other feelings we experience living life. Feelings that resonate and, in some cases, take permanent residence inside of us and adversely impact our overall wellbeing, energy, attitude, sleep, and so many other facets of our lives, and smashing is one of the most exhilarating ways to expel those negative toxins we retain and that build inside of us over time.
SmashBox20 is a woman-led business and has been in operation since January 2021. Principal, Christina Toliver, with the support of her husband, Charles Toliver, decided to start SmashBox20 after catching a rerun of a reality television episode that included a visit to a smash room, that eventually piqued her interest the second time watching. Initial search results indicated the closest smash room was in the next county over, so the Toliver's went forward with their plans to open the area’s premier smash room full steam ahead! A little over one year after opening, SmashBox20 has over one hundred five-star reviews and has been written about by highly visible bloggers and podcasters, showcased on the Daytime Show on NBC News Channel 8, most recently featured in a two-page spread by the Tampa Bay Newspapers, and the most significant exposure for SmashBox20, being featured on the news special “Extraordinary Ordinaries” on Fox 13, highlighting the healing power of smashing and what SmashBox20 is doing for and around the community.
SmashCoin gives SmashBox20 the opportunity to incorporate cryptocurrency, the preferred currency and data exchange of the future, into our business model in its early stages, and share this invaluable resource and the concept of smashing with the rest of the world.
Social Issue
SmashBox20 has served over six-hundred customers in just fourteen short months, and continues to grow in popularity and demand, as our presence becomes more known, and the word continues to spread that this service is now available. Through our own journey, we have learned of the countless ways we are helping so many cope with stress, frustration, anger, anxiety, and pain, and the tremendous outlet smashing provides. When we entered the industry, it was very clear that there is a distinct line drawn separating smash rooms from mental health, as most, including SmashBox20, make the disclaimer that we [smash rooms] are for entertainment purposes only, we are not a Doctor, cannot diagnose, and anyone uncertain of their mental stability should not participate in the activity without consulting with their Doctor first. This is mainly to avoid claims from possible adverse psychological reactions for people with more complex conditions such as certain forms of severe PTSD. With smash rooms being such a new concept, there is still some uncertainty about the overall benefits and legitimacy of there being any therapeutic value as it relates to maintaining mental health; however, there are many psychologists and therapists alike, who regularly refer their patients to smash rooms for catharsis, which we experience regularly at our facility. We have had parents with children as young as eight years of age referred to us by their therapist, who suggest smashing to be a great method to release pent up emotions and internal turmoil. We have also had graduating psychiatrists who utilized smashing as their own outlet to release years of pressure and stress from their studies, all who would prescribe this activity to their own patients. It is the overwhelming number of referrals from therapists we receive on a regular basis, as well as the tremendous benefit it has and we observe with every smash, that are the driving forces that propel these conceptions forward.
SmashBox20 dares to challenge the fundamentals of smashing in our quest to establish a direct correlation to mental health, forging a pathway to this activity being recognized as a respected alternative modality for regular maintenance and preservation of mild to moderate mental health conditions. The most common conditions we have experienced achieve some level of relief from smashing, even if temporarily include, stress, grief, anger, anxiety, depression, and some forms of mild PTSD. These conditions are believed to respond well to smashing because of the cathartic value and its ability to induce the release of endorphins directly related to the internal effects each condition can have on the individual affected. To achieve inclusion and acceptance for the smashing activity, we began our research on current alternative modalities for various mental health conditions, and found several related studies and medical journals, two that are mentioned here, and specifically address there being a need for a modified approach to mental health therapies, of which supports our theory that smashing is indeed a concept that correlates to the scope of an alternative approach to mental health care. The first article was found in The Permanente Journal written by Dr. James Lake and Dr. Mason Turner, titled “Urgent Need for Improved Mental Health Care and a More Collaborative Model of Care”. The article explains the need for “radical changes” as it relates to the current treatments and dominant model of mental health care and the need for “alternative medicine approaches”. Dr. Lake was formerly the Staff Psychiatrist at the Oakland Medical Center in California and a founding member and former Chair of the American Psychiatric Association Caucus on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Dr. Lake is also the author of four books on integrative mental health care. Dr. Turner was formerly the Director of Outpatient Mental Health and Addiction Medicine for Regional Mental Health Services for The Permanente Medical Group, the Chief of the Department of Psychiatry at the San Francisco Medical Center, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. Because of their collective expertise and extensive research in the subject matter, we have sought out the assistance of co-authors, Dr. Lake and Dr. Turner, although attempts to connect with them have been unsuccessful to date, our efforts continue. The second article was co-written by Dr. Gary Asher, MD, MPH, author of several studies and articles relating to mental health, who was also contacted specifically about his writeup on Complementary therapies for mental health disorders. Dr. Asher is currently the Director of Integrative Medicine Services at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Assistant Director of the Chatham Hospital Emergency Department. He has been a practitioner, teacher, and researcher in the field of Integrative Medicine for over 20 years. He earned his medical degree at the Columbia University-Ben Gurion University Medical School for International Health, completed residency training in Family Medicine at MAHEC in Western North Carolina, and completed both a Master’s in Public Health and a clinical research fellowship at UNC. Dr. Asher provided SmashBox20 with valuable insight as it relates to presenting this concept to the mental health industry, suggesting we start by conducting a study of sorts, to validate the associated benefits and essentially identify the exact cause and effect smashing has. Dr. Asher’s suggestion led us to Robert K. Heinssen, Ph.D., ABPP, Director of the Division of Services and Intervention Research (DSIR) program, offered by the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Heinssen provided us with several resources and assisted with navigating the NIMH’s grant funding opportunity announcements (FOA’s) website, which in turn provided us with mechanisms to support the development of psychosocial therapeutic and preventive interventions, as well as tools to help us identify the type of clinical trial we would need to conduct if we wanted to apply for a grant directly from NIMH to do just that. Dr. Heinssen’s suggestions led us to the FOA Pilot Effectiveness Trials for Treatment, Preventive and Services Interventions, which is a Pilot Effectiveness clinical trial grant, to definitively answer questions regarding the intervention’s (smashing’s) effectiveness compared to alternative approaches. Under this approach, clinical trials must be designed to examine not only whether the intervention works, but also how the intervention works, by interrogating whether the intervention engages pre-defined proximal targets that are presumed to account for clinical benefit. At the recommendation of Dr. Heinssen, SmashBox20 is in the final stages of completing a concept paper outlining our scientific aims, hypotheses, and methods (inclusion/exclusion criteria, study design and intervention conditions, plans for assessing intervention targets/mechanisms and outcomes, and basic analytic strategy) in order to move forward in the NIMHs grant application process and complete the first of its kind clinical trial to prove the positive response to smashing and benefits thereof. If efforts are successful, smashing will be adopted and instituted by the mental health industry worldwide as a prescribed therapy for the treatment of certain mental health conditions.
Purposeful Use
In keeping with SmashBox20’s innovative spirit, our constant hunt for new and exciting ways to connect with our customers, and desire to stay on the cutting edge of not only our smashing offerings, but also the technology we incorporate into our infrastructure, because we strive to make it about the whole experience, rather than confining our potential to complacency. We were most intrigued by the concept of cryptocurrency and in analyzing the logistics of incorporating it into our business model, with our customers always at the helm, we felt a Crypto Customer Rewards Program would be an exciting way to introduce our customers to crypto and crypto to smashing! After wrapping our heads around this new concept, we decided to take things a few steps further and created our very own token, SmashCoin, with the ticker symbol SMBX20. Once SmashCoin is listed on the various exchanges and available for sale and trade, SmashBox20 will launch the SmashCoin Customer Rewards Program. Once it has been fully implemented and underway, SmashCoin will begin the process of recruiting other businesses to not only accept SmashCoin as a method of payment for goods and services, but also implement SmashCoin Crypto Customer Rewards Programs into their own business model.

Along with their SmashCoin tokens, customers will receive access to their very own Wallet where they can store their SmashCoin, and a link to the Dexlab Exhange, where they can purchase and trade SmashCoin, as well as just about any other crypto.
SmashCoin B2B Crypto Customer Rewards Program Outline
Businesses are gifted $100 of SmashCoin tokens to initialize their SmashCoin Crypto Customer Rewards Program and will have the option to purchase more SmashCoin or tokens if they choose. They are then able to circulate their SmashCoin to their customers via any of the desired distribution methods, and in turn offer their customers the option to use SmashCoin to purchase certain goods and services. This will lead to additional customer incentives and increased purchasing power of SmashCoin as distribution and circulation grows. The SmashCoin B2B Customer Rewards Program will be easy to integrate and manage, and SmashCoin experts can guide businesses through the process of creating a simple dashboard to manage their customers and their coin campaigns all in one place.
Conclusion
Neither Principal of SmashBox20 has had any formal training in computer programming or the likes. They are however, both innately innovative, technologically inclined, and well-versed in various mechanisms that has helped their business achieve growth, maintain economical uprightness, social responsibility, and create huge advancements within the world in which we live. The Toliver’s would also tell you that their faith in God has much to do with their success. At their core, they are passionate about helping others and envision the endless opportunities afforded via smashing, and through cryptocurrency and the blockchain, as a gateway to a certain autonomy provided by both concepts. SmashBox20 charges ahead in their quests to simplify cryptocurrency and the blockchain for the many like them and make smashing available to all who seek such a release.
